The Devices section displays all the installed unit controllers, lock controllers, pin pads and power controllers (Tasmota) at a site. Users can access detailed information about each hardware device as well as perform actions such as update the firmware, update the config and reboot the devices.
View the Devices list
On the left side menu select Site>Devices
All of the devices installed at the facility are listed.
At a glance information includes:
- Name: ideally choose a name that identifies the role and location of the device
- Type: unit, lock, Pinpad
- Location: the area or unit where the device is installed
- Config: select the link to view the device config details
- Status: Online or Offline
Perform bulk device operations
From time to time the devices will require updating and rebooting. StorAxxS support staff will advise when this is necessary. The StorAxxS system has a built-in update and reboot tool that makes it possible to send commands to multiple devices at once. This reduces the time required to perform maintenance tasks.
How to perform a device bulk update
- Select the checkboxes of the devices that require updating or rebooting
- Select the Action button
- Select the applicable operation from the menu
- Update firmware
- Update config
- Reboot
- Update Wi-Fi config
- After selecting one of the available operation options, a modal corresponding to the chosen operation will display.
- Input any required information and then select Update or Reboot
Only perform bulk update or reboot operations at the direction of StorAxxS support staff.
Any required information will be provided by StorAxxS.
View Device details
Select any listed device to view the Device Details page
Example of the Device Details page
- Device details: displays the status and includes links to the location, hub and config details
- Tabbed sections include:
- Channels
- lists the devices connected to the channels on lock controllers
- Recent Config
- lists the most recent device config
- shown on the details page of unit controllers and lock controllers
- Device Tests
- lists the hardware tests performed on the device
- shown on the details page of unit controllers and lock controllers
- Events
- list of all the logged events the device has performed
- shown on the details page of unit controllers, lock controllers and PIN pads
- Channels
- Actions button: displays a multiple option menu. See below for details regarding the different options:
Edit device
- Select to edit the device details
- The Update page will display
- Edit any available field
- Select Save
Update device firmware
- Select to update the device firmware.
- The Device Firmware Update modal will display
- Required information will be provided by StorAxxS.
Refresh device config
- Selecting Refresh config will immediately reload all the current config settings
Update device config
- Select to change the config settings used by the device
- The Device Config Update modal will display
- Select the required config from the Unit Controller Config dropdown
- Select Update
- The system will load the new config settings onto the device and then reboot the device
- A notification will be displayed on the screen when the update has completed

Change device logging mode
- Selecting this option displays the Change Device Logging Mode modal
- Select the Logging Mode dropdown to set the level of logging
Reboot device
- Selecting this option displays the Device Reboot modal
- Select Reboot to reboot/restart the device
- A notification will be displayed on the screen when the device has completed rebooting
Archive device
- Selecting this option displays the Archive Device modal
- Select Archive to remove the device from the system
Only perform device edit, update, archive or reboot operations at the direction of StorAxxS support staff. Any required information will be provided by StorAxxS.
