Navigating the Alerts section

Alerts or Notifications are generated by the system when certain events occur and/or specific conditions are met and they are displayed in the Alerts section of the platform. 


Alerts and Notifications specific for customers are also generated by the system and sent to customer’s mobile devices as push notifications and displayed in the customer app.




Alert Types

Admin Users receive alerts from the StorAxxS system in the Admin Dashboard - Alerts section. There are currently 4 categories: 

  • Access alerts - are generated when there is unexpected/unknown door movement or movement in a closed unit that triggers an ‘alarm’ alert or if the storage unit is manually overlocked  by site staff
  • Account alerts - are generated when a customer’s account is in arrears, when a customer deletes their account via the customer app, if a booking is skipped, when a merchandise locker becomes empty or if purchased merchandise is not collected
  • Device alerts - are generated when a hardware issue is detected such as when a unit controller goes offline and comes back online or when a site entry or exit gate becomes jammed
  • Clean/Repair alerts - are generated when the clean/repair checkbox is ticked and unticked in a unit’s details page or on the unit’s facility map modal. 



Viewing Alerts

  1. Select Alerts on the left menu
  2. The Alerts page will display
  3. The listed alerts can be sorted by the ‘Event’, ‘Priority’ and ‘Time’ columns

  1. ‘New Alerts’ notification icon. An orange dot indicates there are ‘unseen’ alerts
  2. Sort by the Priority column, which will group together alerts with the same priority
  3. Switch between the active and archived alerts lists
  4. The list can be filtered by date range
  5. The search field can be used to search on the ‘Event’ or ‘Source’ columns
  6. Unread/unseen alerts for the logged in user have a blue dot. Clicking on an alert will navigate the user to the applicable details page. Listed alerts without a blue dot have been read/seen by the logged in user
  7. The Archive alert icon. Archive an alert once is has been actioned and/or resolved to remove it from the active list
  8. For customer account related alerts, the customer name is displayed. Clicking the customer’s name will display the customer’s details page
  9. Select the ‘Archive All’ button to move all the listed alerts to the ‘Archived Alerts’ section. 




Alert Triggers and Priority (Low, Medium, High)

Below are examples of types of alerts and their assigned priority:

  • Access Alerts: 
    • Alarming unit - HIGH
    • Unit overlocked (manual overlock) - HIGH
  • Account Alerts: 
    • Stripe webhook - unpaid/cancelled (not overlocked) - MEDIUM
    • Stripe webhook - past due (auto overlock) - HIGH
    • Customer deleted account (via app) - may need refunds - LOW
  • Device Alerts: 
    • Controller offline/online - HIGH
    • Gate jammed - HIGH

  • Selecting the ‘Archive’ alert icon (see items #6 & #8 in the above image) moves the alert(s) to the ‘Archived Alerts’ list
  • Archived alerts can still be selected to view the details page applicable to the alert
  • Archived alerts cannot be unarchived
  • Archived alerts are automatically removed after 90 days
