Managing Unit Controller Configurations

These settings are only editable by users with site manager permissions or higher.



The settings that control how Unit controllers work (known as 'configs') can be setup on an individual Unit controller basis to enable specific control for different scenarios.

Some examples of Unit controller configurations that might be useful:

  • If a customer requests to opt out of having photographs taken of their unit,
  • If a Unit is having maintenance done to temporarily turn off alarms
  • To enable or disable auto relocking of the units

How to update Unit Controller configurations (configs)

  • Open the AxxS dashboard (axxs.tech/dashboard)
  • Sign in as a site manager or organizational manager 
  • On the left navigation menu select Devices to display the Devices List page
  • Select the applicable Unit number that requires updating
  • The Unit Controller details page will display


Note: you can select multiple units by selecting the check box on the left then following the process below - The Action button is located on the top left on this screen.

Select the unit controller on the devices list page


Once the Unit Controller details page is displayed, confirm this Unit controller is assigned to the correct Unit by checking the details section on the left of the webpage.


View the current config settings


To check the current config and its settings > click on the blue text below 'config' and it will display the current device config details in the View Device Config modal.

Update the device config


To change the device config:

  • Click the Actions button in the top right
  • Select Update config


Select 'Update config' in the Actions dropdown menu

Select 'Update config' in the Actions button dropdown menu


The Device Config Update modal will display

  • Select the Unit Controller Config field
  • A drop down menu containing all the possible configuration choices will display


  • Select the required Config from the dropdown menu
  • Then select the Update button

Confirm the new config settings


To confirm the chosen config contains the correct settings:

  • Select the Config in the left panel details section
  • The View Device Config modal will display

Apply the new config settings


IMPORTANT: To apply the configuration to the unit controller - the unit controller will need to reboot


To reboot the Unit Controller:

  • Select the Action button
  • From the dropdown menu, select Reboot
