The staff app is a convenient tool for facility operators, allowing them to operate unit doors, check unit status, see basic tenant information and perform hardware operations at multiple sites using their mobile device.

Facility organisations may have their own specific apps, so make sure to download the one relevant to your organisation.
You can download the App from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Simply open the store on your device, search for the app by name, and tap the download or install button. Once installed, you can open the app and get started.

Unit Access Page
Unit access page
The unit access page’s main function is to allow users to lock and unlock any unit they need to at will.
- Simply press the unlock button and listen for the linear actuator lock to move.
- The status on the app will update in real-time based on the lock and door state of the unit.
- This page also shows what controller is attached to the unit at the top.
NOTE: users can only open rented units if the 'Rented Unit Access Role' organisation setting has been configured to allow their user role permission to do so. See the Navigating the Organisations section article for more details.
Bluetooth Access
Bluetooth fallback notification
Sometimes the internet at a facility is unavailable or the StorAxxS hub is offline, however, the storage unit door can still be operated using the app.
Upon recognising that the internet is not available, the app will automatically attempt to communicate with the unit controller using the mobile device’s Bluetooth signal. If the Bluetooth connection between the mobile device and the unit controller is successful, the storage unit door will unlock.
This process is seamless for the user. A message (see screenshot above) will be displayed informing the user that ‘fallback to Bluetooth’ will be attempted.
Controllers tab
The Controllers Tab helps you search and manage unit controllers:
Controllers tab
- Search Bar: Search for a controller by its serial number.
- Accordion Headers: Organise controllers by status such as Tests, Failed, and Unassigned.
- Add Result Button: Takes you to the test results page for a specific controller, where you can conduct or review tests.
Test Results Page
This page lets you view, manage, and finalise the outcomes of hardware tests:
Controller test results page
- Test Snapshot: Displays detailed test results, including motion detection, lock operation, latency, and Wi-Fi strength.
- Notes Section: If a test fails, you must add a note explaining the reason. Notes are optional for passed tests but can provide additional context.
- Pass/Fail Buttons: Finalise the test by passing or failing the controller. You must select the confirmation checkbox before marking a test as passed. Failed tests require an entry in the notes section.
- Device Test List: Displays a history of all previous tests, such as the initial onboarding test and the commissioning test completed on-site. You can open each test to review detailed results and snapshots.
NOTE: site staff should only perform controller hardware tests at the direction of StorAxxS support or StorAxxS Certified Installers.
