Duplicate Customers Due to Incorrect Phone Number Entry

Issue: A duplicate customer entry is created in the StorAxxS system if a customer enters their phone number incorrectly during app registration, while staff enters it correctly during the SiteLink onboarding. This results in two customer records, one with the correct phone number (from SiteLink) and one with the incorrect phone number (from the app).


If a customer enters their own phone number incorrectly during app registration, but the staff enters it correctly during the SiteLink onboarding, there will be duplicate customers in the StorAxxS system. This article covers how to rectify the situation and make sure the correct customer has the correct access permissions.


Example:

SiteLink entry (correct): John Doe, 0414 556 789

StorAxxS entry (incorrect): John Doe, 0414 566 789 (entered by the customer during app registration)


In this case, the correct phone number from SiteLink will be assigned the access permissions for the unit and gate. The duplicate account registered by the customer will have no access permissions.



Resolution:

  1. Locate the customer with the incorrect phone number in the StorAxxS system.
  2. Click on their name in the customer list.
  3. Hover over the 'Action' dropdown and select 'Delete.'
  4. Confirm the deletion.
  5. Have the customer re-register via the app, ensuring they enter the correct phone number.
  6. Access permissions will sync to the customer’s account after successful registration.


This will ensure the correct customer has the correct access permissions in the system.
